Oh what a great God and merciful Savior we serve together! As winter melts into Spring, we want to write to you to thank you for you consistent prayers for our family. We have now surpassed 10,000 deputation miles traveled since we began furlough in August.
The House building Tentmakers Our latest venture was a family mission trip, on March 17th, in which 100 people from our sending church, Trinity, joined forces with Hands of Mercy to serve, witness to, and build homes for very needy families living in shelters east of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
Our family served as the missionary translators on the work site.
JD shared evening Bible messages with the trip members staying at Rancho Casitas, which in located about half an hour off the Transpeninsular Highway in Ensenada.
From March 17th-20th worked along with other families in transporting, painting and building 3 homes from March 17-20th.
Praise the Lord for the witness our team was able to have with the recipient family, Alejandro and Abigail Estrada, who were in tears as our build leaders Jay Fitzgerald and Pastor Bill Born presented the family with the keys to their new home, and family Bible and a solar-powered audio-Bible. What a great times we had with Alejandro and Abigail, and also with their Aunt and Uncle Amelia and Jesus. It was Abigail’s uncle, Jesus, who allowed Hands of Mercy to put a house on his property for his niece and her family. Abigail, while watching her 23-day-old daughter, prepared for us a lunch out of her uncle and aunt’s loft-house. It was a very special thing to share this meal with the recipient family. For me, personally, as someone who does get to drive past this area fairly often, when I am on the West Coast, hope to see this family again.
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:3-6
